Thank you for purchasing one of our Mahogany bowls. Your bowl was carved and polished by hand, ever so smooth, and an oil finish was applied to enhance the natural character of the wood. With proper care this bowl will give you pleasure for many years to come.

Wash your bowl after each use, with warm soapy water and a sponge or cloth to remove food oils. Rinse, then dry the bowl with a towel and leave it to dry completely on a rack.

Avoid soaking your bowl (as it would cause the wood to become soft and warp).

NEVER PUT YOUR BOWL IN THE DISHWASHER!

Every couple of months, or whenever your bowl looks or feels dry, lightly oil it with mineral oil (linseed oil - available at your local hardware store).

Spread the oil in light circular motions over the entire bowl and let the oil cure for 24 hours before using it. Buffing with a soft cloth will bring out a silky sheen, and over time and repeated use the bowl will develop a beautiful patina.
